Impossible to Photograph

Seriously...she is impossible to photograph. I try and try to get the perfect picture of her and it just doesn't happen. I end up with 600 pictures of the side/back/top of her head. And while I dearly love her squinchy smile, she is now doing it every time she sees the camera. The pics below are some examples of what I'm talking about. It will be interesting to see what happens when we do her 1 year pics in a few weeks.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Jenna to the pumpkin patch for the first time today. It was so much fun and she loved walking all around looking at the pumpkins, scarecrows, and hay bales. Here's a bunch of pictures from our day.

11 Months!!

It's hard to believe but our baby is 11 months old! I say it all the time, but I can't believe how fast this is going. It doesn't seem possible that in just one short month, we will be celebrating Jenna's first birthday. She is just such a joy and I wish I could freeze time right now. I spent so much time wishing the days away (when she was going through reflux and colic), and I feel like it took me a long time to settle into motherhood. I just love her so, so much and being her mom is the most amazing thing. She is so much fun and her little personality is adorable. She is feisty and impatient like her mommy and sweet and cuddly like her daddy. She is so curious and inquisitive and is so active, there is never a dull moment over here.

At 11 months Jenna is:

• About 23 pounds, and 31 inches
• Wearing size 12-18 month clothing
• In size 4 diapers
• Wearing size 5.5 shoes
• Walking and getting faster every day
• Saying "DaDa" and "that"
• Pointing at everything and saying "that" and waiting for us to tell her what it is
• Giving hugs and kisses
• Pretty much over her stranger anxiety
• Mostly sleeping through the night
• Still only sporting two teeth
• Feeding herself, except for when she has yogurt
• Eating about 24-28 ounces of formula a day
• A huge fan of patty-cake
• Not such a big fan of dogs
• Still a water baby
• Still a bit of a pill in the carseat
• Getting into EVERYTHING
• Dancing whenever she hears music
• The joy in our hearts!!
  

Changing Times

Things are really changing around here. Jenna got to go shopping last weekend and get her first pair of shoes...thanks Nonnie!! Anyways, she actually got two pairs but so far she has only worn these tennis shoes. She is starting to get used to walking in shoes, but there was a definite learning curve, i.e. it took 15 minutes to walk to the mailbox which is right in front of our house. I'll definitely have to post a picture of Jenna actually wearing the shoes because it's pretty darn cute. She just looks like such a big kid when she's running around the house in shoes. Hard to believe she is almost a year old already.

Into Everything!!!

This girl has figured out how to get around and how to get into everything!!! Seriously, now that Jenna is walking she seems to have noticed how much she can get into. We can't leave her alone for even a second. I spent a fair amount of time childproofing this weekend but there's so much left.
The coffee table drawer is a definite favorite of Jenna's....

Because, of course, there are remote controls in there!

Another favorite is the television. Jenna turns it on and off and changes the channels.
